Women Ski Patrollers
on the Rise – An Interview
with Kari Brandt
Episode 137
Today’s podcast episode is the fourth in the Breaking Money Silence® with Your Younger Self series. I interviewed Kari Brandt, Ski Patrol Director at Lake Tahoe’s Diamond Peak Ski Resort about her unique career path. She discussed why she thinks more women should become ski patrollers and the importance of asking for an equitable wage in this male-dominated industry.
Kari started off as a math major to show her high school math teacher she could do it better. She ended up going on to graduate school, studying environmental science, and discovering her life purpose was to be a ski patroller. In 2019, Kari founded the non-profit organization, Women of Patrol, to show other women that you can have a career as a ski patroller – it just takes a little help from your friends. Read more.
