Building a village to support
inclusivity in the world of dance
Episode 104
As part of the Breaking Money Silence® on Diversity and Inclusion series, I interview Emily Davenport, one of the KBK Wealth Connection team members, about her passion for dance and how growing up biracial in the affluent white world of dance influenced her career path. Emily shares how these early experiences shaped her world view, her self-perception, and how as an adult, she is committed to creating a dance studio where every young person feels included and like they truly belong.
Emily Davenport is the co-owner of Village Dance & Company, a recreational dance studio located in Michigan. Emily and her village have strived to create a family-oriented, fun, diverse, and inclusive learning environment for students of all ages and dance levels. She also works as a virtual assistant who provides social media management, content management, and virtual administrative services.
